Kelly Preston passed away in July after a two-year-long private battle with breast cancer.
There's no doubt that John Travolta loved his wife, Kelly Preston, more than anything in the world. She was the love of his life and the rock of the family when the couple lost their first son Jett tragically. She was also the understanding wife who helped him get over the loss of his first love, Diana Hyland, also to breast cancer.
Even though they had busy lives, the couple always found time for each other on special days. Be it birthdays or anniversaries, they never missed it. The People reported the moment Travolta surprised Preston on her 40th birthday with a cake at the One World, One Child Benefit Concert in 2002.
However, this birthday of Preston's was a bit different and extremely emotional for Travolta. For the first time, the Pulp Fiction actor couldn't surprise his wife on her birthday. Instead, he took to Instagram and paid tribute to the actress on what would have been her 58th birthday, as per People. On Tuesday, October 13, he wrote, "Happy Birthday hon! I found this photo of my mom and dad‘s wedding. It was nice to see ours alongside theirs. All my love, John."
It only feels like yesterday when Travolta announced the demise of his precious and loving wife through his Instagram post. On July 13, 2020, the Grease actor expressed his love for the actress and pain as he penned, “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many."

"My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side,” Travolta continued.
He added, “Kelly’s love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don’t hear from us for a while. But please know that I will feel your outpouring of love in the weeks and months ahead as we heal. All my love, JT.”
