Keep Your Deceased Pet’s Memory Close to You with These Stunning Glass Paws Containing Their Ashes

Your furry friend might be gone but their essence stays strong inside the pet paws that are created with their ashes and encased in stunning glass art.

Losing a loved one is painful and losing a pet can be even more devastating. After all, they were a part of the family and nothing can replace them. But sometimes, in order to keep the memories alive, many people like to have an object they can hold, something that contains the spirit of their beloved friend and pet. For them, it can keep the pain of loss at bay.

Sadly, there's no formal custom to honor them when they pass away. Some people choose to bury them in a place they think their pet would have loved. Others might choose to visit a pet cemetery and bury their furry buds. In some cases, they might even decide to have a gravestone or statue set up for them.

However, there are some people who don't have access to a pet cemetery or feel like they don't have a space for a formal burial. Having understood this need, Davenport Memorial Glass creates these heartwarming pieces by imbuing stunning glass art with the beloved pet's ashes.

These pet paws literally hold a piece of your best friend that you can carry around wherever you go, reports Metro UK.

“Our goal is to physically capture a moment, to create a keepsake that brings back a memory,” Davenport mentions on their website. “Nothing will compare to the time spent with your loved one, but we hope to aid in treasuring them and remembering the precious time you had together. Thank you for all the trust you have put into what we do. We greatly appreciate you."

All you need to do is find a way to get a small spoonful of your pet's ashes and ship it to Davenport by post. With those ashes, Cameron Davenport, the man behind the venture, will help create a lasting piece of your loved one. There are also colors you can choose from including Maple Syrup, Pomegranate, Terps, Sunset Slyme, Green Stardust, Blue Stardust, Purple Lollipop, Pink Lollipop, and NS Yellow.

Additionally, you can ask for a paw-imprint pendant.

You can even have your memorabilia mounted as a piece to adorn your mantelpiece. Davenport also takes custom orders where you can speak to the makers (based in North Idaho) and have them design something just as special as the friend you lost.

You might have to be careful when shipping though, as some postal services won't accept ashes as part of their shipment. Davenport will return unused ashes to you the same way they received it.

But Cameron's not just making this glass art with the ashes of your furry pets. He is also making them with the ashes of your human loved ones.

Even if you just want some nice glass pieces, he creates masterpieces simply for its aesthetics.

According to Metro UK, the price range begins from $99 (£76). But what about the man himself?

“I started blowing glass back in 2003," Cameron told Bored Panda. “After many years of struggling, I finally took a class from an artist by the name of Phil Siegel. That’s when everything changed. I started focusing more on the art, and less on the function. Working harder to make it clean and uniform rather than just sellable.”

As for incorporating ash into his art, he said, “About 10 years ago I lost a good friend. I was given a small spoonful of his ashes that I had just set on my bookshelf for a number of years. One day it came to me, and I decided to make him into a marble. There were quite a few friends that thought this was a neat idea and asked me to make them some memorial glass as well. It sort of just snowballed after that.”

And it truly is a marvelous idea. “One of my favorite parts about my job are the smiles and tears I receive from my clients,” he said. “They love the work I do for them and the meaning behind it. As each day goes on, I become more and more grateful for the people in my life and the time I get to spend with them. Doing this type of work really highlights the love in my life. I look forward to many more years of spreading joy and comfort through memorial glass.”
